Re: Anyone ever 3D printed a rocket?

I think L911 should just have some fun and concentrate on getting his chute open before progressing to the next level. Ready to fly kits are his best option.

Re: Anyone ever 3D printed a rocket?

Hey guys, I was wondering the approximate price for a 3D printed 50cm rocket with a 33mm diameter? can these 3D printers include a motor mount tube too? Wouldn't this be cheaper and more convenient instead of building your own rockets? the printer can also colour and print out designs on your rocke...

Re: Launch of Soyuz TMA-18M with Two Visitors & 1 Long Term

I'd be really scared trying to light 20 AP motors at once  Vostok Tripoli San Diego built a 1/7 scale Soviet Vostok for their annual Plaster Blaster launch in early October 2004. The rocket was designed to fly on a total of twenty 54mm motors, 18 lit on the pad, two air-started after ejectin...

Hey citizenspace Maybe you should go back through some of your posts in the - 'Space: The ultimate in higher' thread. I don't think anyone has a problem with your enthusiasm, it's just that your delivery may come across as very arrogant to some. That's just my observation and I have nothing further ...

Re: night launch?

I have a DS Rising Star that has a nice big clear plastic see through payload bay that I fill up with Christmas LEDs.
I use black powder D motors when launching at night... stays under 450ft, but it's stiill good fun.

BaddAzz make a nice night kit.

Hey cryoscum and OTT, you both build some impressive rockets.
Just wondering what is worse... designing them or building them???
Feel free to crap on as long as you want... because I enjoy it.

October Sky tries to convince all new comers that rocketry is just a hobby... Don't believe it. Because after you've spent several hours reading through some of the level 3 builds you will realise it's more than a hobby... It's an illness. Won't take too long to catch this illness... have fun. :mrgr...

Re: How wide should epoxy fillets be on a LP rocket?

One of the first rocket kits I ever built was a Dynastar Grappler. It has a 2.6" diameter standing at 45" tall weighing in around 11oz. I used wood glue throughout the entire build including fillets for the fins. I just ran a nice thick bead along the fins which most of was sucked up by th...

I need special clearance for my Grappler... It climbs to an astonishing 230feet on a D12-3 motor.

Seriously, if someone's going to be launching above 18,000' up to 120,000', I'd love to try and make it just to watch.
