Re: Wychitella Launch 16-17th June

What accommodation options are nearby the launch site? the town itself is pretty small, although someone mentioned accommodation at the pub? Sascha was staying at a motel somewhere close last time? Quite a few other towns within a short driving distance Bridgewater, Charlton etc are a bit bigger (h...

Re: this summer project - parawing rocket

I have a couple of spar-less parafoil kites and have had the same idea. I don't think it will help you to eject from the side - you're going to have to have a really heavy nose to get the CG forward enough for that to work, and anyway the aerodynamics of the rocket aren't going to help... I figure j...

Re: Show us your hybrid

What is the rocket? Motor? 38mm or 54mm? You'd have to ask Troy, from memory the fin can is attached so maybe a 54mm... it's of his own design so maybe it's what fit with his body tube (which I think is glassed post tube) What size N2O cylinders? Is that a DE in the insulation blanket? There were t...

Re: Show us your hybrid

I own a RATTworks J160 and it does an excellent job of collecting dust. is there something specific that bugs you about them? the two things that I wonder about are: (1) it seems somewhat a pain in the bum to lug around gas (& accessories, rental of cylinder etc) (2) there appears to be a lot m...

Re: Contrail hybrid reloads

I've joined the club as they say, my Contrail 38mm 28" & reloads arrived from the U.S. this week 8) No more excuses - I'll have to start mixing epoxy and get stuck into the PML kit which arrived from the U.S a couple of weeks ago. Just FYI, there were three people flying hybrids (two w/Con...

Re: RE: Re: Flying Low Power in Victoria

If you have AMRS membership/certfications will this be recognised with Tripolli australia? I'm pretty sure you need to be a paid up member of either Tripoli or TRAAU to fly HPR at Serp. Your AMRS certification will be recognised. Not sure about LPR Time/distance wise it's a pretty similar: 1:47 and...

Re: RE: Flying Low Power in Victoria

Hi all, So recently I moved down to Melbourne from Brisbane and am wanting to get into flying some low power with a guy I met at work. I used to fly with QRS and do intend on joining MARS and flying some high power stuff with them some time in the future, but for now I just wanted to keep it simple...

Just for bonus points, once you use CATOs fix, then the links from that page also default to HTTP and don't work unless you cut, paste and edit to HTTPS

Re: Flat Earth

I could think of a much safer and cheaper way to view the earth from 40,000 ft lol I think you added a zero there somewhere: propelled himself almost 600 metres into the air on Saturday that's 1900 feet and change  it's scary enough waiting for the laundry to deploy when your just looking an...
