Re: 9th December Launch and 2018 AGM

A windy day for flying today, with canopies on the flight line choosing to join in flight activities ( a timely reminder for members to ensure canopies are pegged down securely!) and an interesting time flying today with what felt like a record 5 failed flights including two ballistic landings that ...

Re: Joe Turner's 38mm Scratch-Build

Hi Snkl, Where did you purchase the SCR Delay adapter from? I can't see it on any stores. (ausRocketry, scr.... or I'm going blind!) I got mine from AusRocketry. When in doubt, use the search function on the site. https://ausrocketry.com.au/scr-adjustable-delay-tool.html Currently out of stock but ...

Re: Joe Turner's 38mm Scratch-Build

Hello, Does anyone know which item on AusRocketry site is for the "SCR Adaptor Delay"? There is:- https://ausrocketry.com.au/universal-delay-drilling-tool.html But on closer examination it says it is for Aerotech DMS rocket motors. But I can't find anything "SCR"-ish. Anyone else...

Maybe Christmas at my place is a little *darker* than at other people's houses... ;)

Re: Slower than the sim

Nice work on the certification Cam. With velocity I usually see slower speeds than simmed. I believe this is a result of the sampling rate of the accelerometer. I’ve seen the same thing. I’ve had flights where I’ve flown two JLA3s side by side (testing one of them for accuracy after it spend a mont...

11th November 2018 Launch

Pulled together my flight video. No onboard video - I’m still waiting for my 3d printed shroud for the RunCam, so I had to do something else to make the flight video more interesting:

Re: Joe Turner's 38mm Scratch-Build

Hi Drew, Yes it is bevelled and yes it is from Archetype Rocketry Bob is looking into it for me. I may try drilling a small crater into each end and try giving it a sharp edge. I’ll see what Bob says first. Sort of wish I bought two of them now... something to compare against. Oh well. That is good...

Re: 14th October 2018 Launch “October Skies”

With the help of Petar we found mine having a swim in the river. Thankfully it was hooked around a snag which stopped its journey down the to the sea. Not so thankfully, I don't think that Big Red Bee Tx's actually like a dip in the wet stuff. Dr. Mark's rocket was found by one of the workmen at th...
