Re: Free Form Fins - CP Issues - OpenRocket

I’ve not looked into how free form fins are calculated in OR but pretty sure it’s not going to be straight forward and there will be a whole bunch of assumptions as any shape is possible. I expect you are coming up against a threshold and it’s causing OR to change its calculation method. I suspect i...

Re: GDay from Darwin

SpaceManMat did you do any launches in Darwin? I have some friends that have properties so might check out these options. I used to live in Palmerston and flew A - C motors at local ovals with a few friends and family for about 5 years. Scouted around the rural area but never found anything too big...

Re: GDay from Darwin

Welcome to the forum. Used to fly in Darwin, before I moved to Brisbane, never knew anyone else there into rockets. One of the issues i had was the airport is in the middle of everything so you’re a bit limited altitude wise.

That really sent it - spent about 9 seconds in the air. Quite a big setup they have.

Re: Purple Parrot - MD 38mm

I want to look at ways to refine my MD build. First up I wanted to revisit the use of fly away rails. Ok so I wanted to get a some idea as to what the fly away rails we're going to do to my flight. Problem is it is not easily simulated, but I figured out a few ways to look at the effect they have. F...
