Re: Simulation of external protuberances

You can put a piece of airframe that is almost non existent in the sim and it will trick it to think there is booster to attach fins etc. to. I can send you a sim where we have done exactly that and you can just modify it as required.

Re: Almost all motors on backorder

So, now that Thunda has occurred are the stock levels for any remaining motors going to be updated in the Ausrocketry store? It still seems pretty sparse in there. Did the container also have other stuff in it, like altimeters, trackers, etc? Hi Wozos, There are a significant amount of motors that ...

Great photos.

Another Estes E9 bites the dust! This is a good demonstration why it is important to follow the safety codes which have specific safe distances.

What’s the proposed motor?

Re: Any experiences with checked in airline luggage - rocket and AV bay

True rocketeer question ;-) So the simple answer if you are checking oversize luggage is you have ‘model aircraft’. There is no fuel and even if flown before, the residue would be inert. The critics thing is to NOT be arrogant and try to broadcast heavily it is a rocket u less you want the extra que...

Re: NSWRA - Mullaley Launch Photos - 6th/7th April 2019

Great photos and looks like it was a great launch!

I have seen a number of university groups create risk assessments with limited knowledge of rockets and how the club events work, as such there appears to be an overzealous approach to PPE.

Pre-Thunda Working bee and launch 05-08 April 2019

A working bee has been planned in preparation for Thunda 2019. This is planned from Friday 05 to Monday 08 April 2019. For those that can assist with the working bee, we will open up the instrument to 18,000ft for Saturday and Sunday. **The motor shipment is due in the next few days, so there is a c...

I’m trying to pull the old faithfuls to fly as I have been busy rolling tubes for Uni teams and others.

Remember to bring anything and everything to throw into some drag races ;-)

Re: Thunda Registration is still "On Hold"

Apologies for the delay, we have been more focused on getting motors and dealing with last minute regulatory requests to the event can run as planned. (Ask me about it at the event) The ticketing should be allocated (taken off hold etc.) in the next few days. No need to book campsites this year, jus...

Re: Campsite map/choice for Thunda?

So we are going to it a little differently now as the farm hand who was clearing the site has moved on. Next weekend 05-08 April we are holding a working bee to finalise the camp site and other areas of the new location. We will have the quiet through to the party areas like last time, but you can j...

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were just wondering if anyone happens to have a 75mm CTI casing and closures that they can bring to the launch tomorrow?

Cheers

Broden, it is a Gorilla 75mm FWD closure you need. Not CTI which we have.

Re: Are all 38mm couplers the same?

I bought some 38mm coupler tube to make an avbay to fit into the payload section of a 38mm loc precision weasel. It was too big! The outer diameter of the coupler tube was closer to 39mm. Do I need to order a loc precision specific coupler? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Different brands, mater...
