Re: Gyro Rocket Roll Stabilization System

The system is based on the principles of rolleron operation, only performed through an electronic circuit. The system is self-regulating, causally consequential so that oscillations are avoided.I made the fins larger because of the slow airflow of this test model. OK. Just remember to keep the gains...

Re: Gyro Rocket Roll Stabilization System

Nice work ins. FYI I think the gains of the system are set a bit high as you have them in your demonstrations. It is surprising how little inertia is around the roll axis. Keep in mind as the speed increases the amount of fin actuation may need to be reduced to prevent oscillations in the roll axis....

Re: Dyneema cord

This is the sort of stuff that is supplanting the regular steel-wire rope used in 4WD winches and such. Much less mass at the front of the vehicle and just as strong if you select the right thickness. It is only polyethylene so would need protection from heat and abrasion. Great that it is available...

Re: Vertical Trajectory System, Mk2 Evolution

I should really do an update on this, but the lockdown (about day 250 so far) is getting to my enthusiasm. I will present a bit of a teaser: Vid.jpg This is the HD image from the video telemetry downlink, showcasing the data overlay. I have done some upgrades on the system, including long-range 900M...

Re: Vacuum chamber for under $30

Nice idea. And you can bleed your brakes when needed too (it is much easier than without using the tool). eMatches are a far more realistic test :) If you want something more "realistic" than LEDs but not flammable you can use "grain of wheat" bulbs, or Christmas tree light bulbs.

Re: Tripoli Membership

Clubs definitely need to get in the habit of communicating with members using something other than FB. I would only look at FB every few months, so it is not the place for timely information for me. Many people do not have FB at all.

Re: The ULTIMATE GPS rocket locator

Sadly no. The lack of flying at the moment doesn't help.

I can empathise with that. With our current Lockdown 6.0 happening I don't think I will be able to fly this year at all. Especially annoyed because of all the GSE work I have done recently :( :( :(

Re: Perth newbie G'day mate

Welcome to the forum RR. I am sure WARS will get back to you shortly. Sounds like you are working your way up the impulse chain, which is what most people recommend. That way skills learned get translated to the next level and you learn along the way. Enjoy the journey whatever level you are flying ...
