Re: EasyAs RDF 2.2 "Remote" connectors...

The remote connectors are for a remote trigger for the units wireless board. The idea is that, when powered up, the unit beeps as per normal, but has no radio transmission. It then waits for either: A power input across the remote pins (ie an ignitor going off) A switch to close (ie a launch detect ...

Re: Rail Buttons

Hi Trevor, How did you go finding a supplier of the rail material in Melbourne? I haven't been able to locate one in Melbourne If you have a poke around on the link Lamp sent you will eventually arrive at the Australian distributor: 80/20 Australia Unit 10 35 Foundry Road Seven Hills NSW, 2147 Aust...

Re: Williams "Wildfire" Westernationals 2011

Don't know, let us know how you get on :) If you have two of these things within a couple of metres of each other then the airwaves are a real mess with all sorts of whistling and popping going on. Even the tracking tones are difficult to make out. With five metres separation, the signals clarify an...

Of course what they don't tell you is that after five meters it attracts snakes and makes them hissed off!

Re: Parachute Steering

For the "flying air-bed" shute design check out this guy: http://www.youtube.com/user/Mihawkler#p/u/9/MVVtZJjTmWw This is a Ram air chute and personally one of my favourites. It has the downside that deployment is a little less straightforward than a hemispherical chute, so for now I will ...

Parachute Steering

OK, Lets try this Whooshtronics mentoring idea out a bit. This project does not exist at the moment so its being built from the ground up. So here is the idea: What I want to do is come up with an electronic gizmo that controls a parachute to return the descending vehicle to the launch point. The id...

Re: Yagi Design to go with 433MHz tracker

Hi Nic, I'm impressed, you have done well. The only thing missing is what type of cable you are using so I would assume RG-59. I'm not 100% clear how a folded dipole works better than a single dipole but, I can say that it does. It also actually simplifies construction so I would use one each time. ...

Re: PCB Manufactures

I used to use Canon photo paper and an Iron. Don't go there, its hard work. I switched to PC label backing paper and an Iron, which was better but inconsistent. (But it does transfer any colour toner if you are using a colour laser so you could do silkscreens with it) Now I just use press and peel w...

Re: PCB Manufactures

Rockby sell an Overcoat pen which gives your PCB that nice green look: http://www.rockby.com.au/searchres.cfm?searchkey=overcoat&imageField.x=0&imageField.y=0 Pretty pricey I know, but if you want the effect... I have seen some people who use toner transfer for PCB's also print the silkscree...
