Hi Chris,

The EzyTube will be utilised for "mandrels" only (airframe 2.5m + coupler 1.5m) and will not form any part of the rocket/missile. The tubes will be constructed in the same fashion as for my 1/2 scale Patriot but utilising 5 wraps of 295gsm FG + 3mm M80 corecell + 5 wraps of 295gsm FG sandwich (7mm total thickness).

I would of hoped to be completed the mandrels buy now, but all my spare time has been soaked up renovating the bathroom (happy wife, happy,,, yeah yeah).... :( :( :(

I'll have to pick your brain some Dave when I get closer. I'm thinking of FGing my Bruiser EXP.

What are your plans for the nosecone on your Patriot?

Hello all, 6 months since my last update (apologies), there has been a lot going on and my bathroom renovations are "NEARLY" completed.

The concrete form tubes I'm planning to utilise for the mandrels are made to be filled with, well concrete. The internal pressure causing the tube to form a perfectly round cylinder. The tube (tubes 1 x 2,500mm & 1 x 1,500mm) are out of round (by as much as 15mm) and as such an internal frame is required to make the tube(s) as round as possible.

I have managed to find some time today to complete the frame to support the "Air-Frame" form tube (coupler frame to be completed shorty).

The frames supporting rings are 6mm MDF and the stringers are 42mm x 11mm DAR pine. The central support AU tube is 101mm x 6.4mm x 3,000mm

Looking good, Dave!
It may get tricky to push the frame into the forming tube simply due to size, so you may need some extra hands for it?
I'm sure Tania would be happy to help early on a freezing Sydney morning :)

Looking good, David. The frame looks just the ticket for supporting the mandrel. I can't wait to see this thing finished.

Two things:

1. Great job on getting the tube onto the frame!

2. Size comparison- HOLY SHITBALLS! It only sinks in late in the day exactly how BIG that is!
