18th October 2020 Launch

Postby Digit » Fri Sep 25, 2020 10:26 pm

Unfortunately owing to current Queensland Government restrictions on mass gatherings, The October Skies public launch day has had to be cancelled.

At this stage we are looking to host a member only launch day, limited to a maximum of 30 people on site.

That is too bad, my youngest has been keen to launch his first build . How do you put your name in the hat for the member day?

As of this morning, the QLD govt states that upto 1000 people can attend an outdoor sports or club event provided they have a Covid plan ie a way of logging people in and out etc. Considering they are looking at upping the limit at the Gabba to 75% of maximum, surely we can have more than 30 people spread over the outdoor launch area at Cedar Grove??

I’m not suggesting Flames, Smoke and Noise, but at least a normal club day?

The QRS committee is currently looking into options for the October launch. The health and safety of our members is our highest priority. Don't worry, the committee is just as keen as the members to get out for a lunch day... Stay tuned...

The QRS committee has made the decision to cancel the October launch.

This has been driven by several factors, including covid admin requirements considering our gatherings are on government land.

We are looking at running an in-person RSO / LCO course and AGM over the next month to replace the October launch.

Anticipate normal launch activities resuming from the November launch onwards.
