Just looked at the predicted overnight minimums for the weekend at Cedar Grove! Do we still fly if there’s snow on the ground???

Launch Report

Another amazing launch day with clear sky's and no wind until late morning with a total of 41 launches for the day, 16 LP, 17 MP and 8 HP.

Tim Byrne achieved his Level 1 with a flight of his rocket "Red Back" on a H135 to 2300 feet, congratulations Tim.

Most prolific launchers were again Nick and Zac Hutton with 7 launches. Nick also had the biggest motor for the day with the launch of his "High Tec" on an I55 7 second long burn to 3500 feet. This flight required a long launch rail so that it achieved stable flight speed by the time it cleared the rail.

Other note-worthy flight's were Warren McKay's 29mm minimum diameter rocket "H6" which flew on a F120 Vmax to 1700 feet. With a burn time of only 0.4 seconds, it was very, very fast. Once Warren has ironed the bugs out, this little rocket may be a contender for breaking the existing H motor record with a 11,000 foot plus flight.

Sam D'Arcy launched her rocket "Flash" on a G77 to 1200 feet but what made this flight different was Sam was trialing the release of an experimental UAV with attached camera.

One of Greg Traise's 4 flights for the day was the maiden flight of another of Greg's unusual looking rockets, a LOC "Ram" on a G77 to 1500 feet. Greg has had a series of unique looking rockets, all of which have performed quite well.

Yet another perfect rocket day.

Sounds like a great day! Sorry I missed it - recovering from a cold, so best I sat it out. :(

13 June 2021 Launch Day

Postby Legendontour » Sun Jun 13, 2021 8:06 pm

Thanks everyone for a great day. Particularly the RSO’s Phil and Matt, and the LCO’s Paul and Petar. Here’s some of my flights and a few i got while waiting to stop my GoPro. I never realised just how close the river is until 30mins ago when I saw the footage from the on board camera!! See you all next month.
