LAUNCH INVITATION
The Queensland Rocketry Society Inc (QRS) would like to invite all interested people and members of the Australian rocketry community to our June launch.
LAUNCH DETAILS
Date: Sunday 12 June 2022
Range Open: 0800
Range Closed: 1300
Ceiling: 5000ft AGL. (A NOTAM will be posted with Air Services Brisbane office).
DIRECTIONS
If you require directions to launch area 2 at Cedar Grove, please refer to the QRS Website.
SPECIAL NOTICES FOR THE DAY
* Members are asked to sign in at the RSO table at 8:00am.
* If your membership is not current on the day (QRS and TRA), you will not be able to launch.
* HPR rocketeers will need to provide evidence of a current QLD explosives licence and clearance.
* If launching an unproven design, either scratch built or a modified kit, bring a copy of your sim so the RSO can verify the stability/safety of your rocket.
TRA CERTIFICATION FLIGHTS
This launch is TRA sanctioned and TRA certification flights for Level 1 & 2 will be conducted. Remember to make arrangements with the TRA Certification Officer prior to the launch day. TRA members from across Australia who wish to attempt certification are welcome to attend for this purpose.
UNFAVOURABLE WEATHER
If adverse weather or other conditions on the day of the launch effect the launch program, the launch will be rescheduled. If on the day of the launch, you are uncertain the launch will proceed, check this post for updates or contact 07 3333 1655 and follow the prompts to local clubs. A cancellation notice will be posted to the launch site shortly after 7:00am on the day of the launch.

Great day of launching on Sunday with chilly weather (for SE Qld...) greeting members. There were 33 flights for the day consisting of: A x 1, B x 3, C x 6, D x 2, E x 2, G x 8, H x 5, I x 3, J x 2 and K x 1. Largest motor for the day was Greg flying his 7.5" T-LOC on a K360 motor to 2000 feet.

- Michael for achieving his L1 cert flying Aerospace on a H115 to 1000 ft
- Anthony for achieving his L2 cert flying EZI-65 on a J425 to 3800 ft

+ 1 on the MVP nomination.
Had the opportunity to discuss rocketry stuff with visitor Glenn who'd come all the way from Toowoomba to check out the launch and the club. We've got a potential new member there as he's very keen and has bought his first kit (PML Excaliber I believe) to build.
