How to get to QRS Launch Site 2

The Queensland Rocketry Society conducts club rocket launches at Cedar Grove, about 5km south of Jimboomba. Jimboomba is approximately 40km by road from the centre of Brisbane. From Brisbane, travel south along the Mount Lindesay Highway (Route 13) towards Beaudesert. The Mount Lindesay Highway passes through the township of Jimboomba, just after crossing the Logan River. The following map and directions guide you from Jimboomba to the launch site.

1. From Jimboomba, continue travelling south along Mount Lindesay Highway (Route 13) for 9.52 km (7 min’s)
2. Turn right into Cedar Grove Road, at Cedar Vale
3. Continue along Cedar Grove Road for 4.28 km (approx 5 min’s)
4. Over a rise at the Y-intersection with Dennis Road, you will see a wide flat, expanse. The launch site is on the right-hand side of the road.

If you have GPS navigation, the launch site is located at the following
coordinates:
South 27.85325, East 152.96258

Due to some recent changes with land ownership, QRS is temporarily using another site just up the road from LA2.

The following map and directions guide you from Jimboomba to the launch site.

1. From Jimboomba, continue travelling south along Mount Lindesay Highway (Route 13) for 9.5 km (7 min’s)

2. Just past the sign for Cedar Vale, turn right into Cedar Grove Road.

3. Continue along Cedar Grove Road for 5 km (approx 5 min’s)

4. You will come to a 90degree turn to the left approx. 300m past LA2 (If you have not been to LA2 before, you will know when you reach the 90degree turn.

5. Continue another 1.28km, past the milk farm (No.39) and turn right onto a small dirt road where LA2A is located.

If you have GPS navigation, the launch site is located at the following coordinates:

27°51'45.38" S, 152°57'21.22" E
