Ummmm... maybe we should just get more :-)

Speaking of M sparky drag races, is there any preferences for motors on this? It would be great to think ahead and I will get some additional ones in the current order being processed.

Speaking of drag races, I actually have 5 of the Drag Queens left, so if a few guys want them, I reckon it would be a good idea to have a drag race this weekend :-)

$185 gets you a ready-to-fly kit with an I280DM motor ready. Normal price would be about $220 for everything.

For those that already have a DQ, I will sell you another I280DM for $75 (instead of the normal $90) to participate.

The I280DM is an SU AT sparky. Which is banned at Serpentine as a club rule. If you want to fly in a sparky drag race you will have to slip across the river out of Mexico and fly with our northern friends.

I will be doing that in serps off season.. already fitting out the caravan as a mobile rocket workshop.. complete with fibreglass roll racks for any repairs on the go.. am planning on a trip up nirth in the next 6 months.. I really wanna put some sparky and green motors up mrgreen:

Hi All

Looks like there will be some rain over the Brisbane area on the weekend. The forecast is for partly cloudy conditions at Westmar, so let's hope that improves. We can, of course still launch under any clouds and in between cloud banks, but will have to keep a closer eye on it.

The current models are also showing wind patterns different from the historic data (the week's average from last year), probably due to that L north of NZ causing the rain further east of Westmar. From what I can currently make out (projections 4 days out!) is that drift patterns for sub-30,000' flights seem to be towards NNW and NW for flights above 30,000'. Wind speeds are lower than average too.

Will keep you posted, but I suspect we'll just need to re-run all the Drift Pattern Analyses on Friday night when we have better info and then make a judgement call on where those flights launch from. We don't want anyone planting their rocket in that huge retention dam approx 4km to the NE of LA1 :)

That upper level trough makes forecasting a bit tricky, but based on GFS ensemble I reckon you guys should have a good weekend!

Im tipping either Saturday or Sunday will be glorious clear skies, fingers crossed for both but even if you get one or the other - happy days!
