QRS Committee 2017

The QRS AGM took place this weekend following the AV bay workshop.

It gives me great pleasure to announce that the 2017 committee for the Queensland Rocketry Society elected at the AGM consists of the following members:

President – Matt Barton
Secretary – Blake Nikolic
Treasurer / Membership – Petar Nikolic
Committee Member – Warren McKay
Committee Member – Andrew Surtees
Committee Member – Lachlan Thomas

Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM and especially to our new committee member Lachlan. It was great also to have MARS president Marty Lynch in attendance. I would like to thank outgoing committee member Mark for his contribution to the club over the past 12 months.

As a team, the new committee looks forward to providing support for all of the QRS membership in the fun and safe pursuit of rocketry for another year of successful launches.

Congrats to all that put their hands up to be part of the QRS committee.

Thanks for having me in attendance today, it is great to see the support that the clubs around Australia provide to one another, I'm personally grateful for the technical and administrative support that QRS has provided to MARS, along with personal contributions by some members of QRS. I hope to fly again with you again soon.
Many years ago the great British explorer George Mallory, who was to die on Mount Everest, was asked why did he want to climb it. He said, "Because it is there."
Well, space is there, and we're going to climb it

It was so good to see Marty there and again, great work with getting MARS "off the ground", pun intended ! 8)

QRS is in good hands ( even Matt is a president.... :lol: ...truly kidding, he is one top man ) and fantastic to see "new blood" by having Lachlan put up his hand. :D
