they say you learn from your mistake.......i must of taken the crash course.

Its always the second flight of rocket when I go larger that bites the dust. After that if they survive they go well.

The Initiator went fine on its 1st launch (F52) then the 2nd Launch (G64) I put the delay in backwards and it lawn darted.

The Mirage was fine 1st launch (G64) but the 2nd it decided to do some skywriting.

This time it could of been I got 2 of the same diameter but slightly different thickness O-rings the wrong way around. Another thing someone suggested is it could of been caused by a problem with the redline delays or bad propellant but I am unsure of this. I will be contacting Aerotech and see what they say.

If it was user-error then well it is another lesson learned and I will take note next time.

Fridge-05 once again comes through with the goods with the photo. Very Nice. :D

Hi Tantaris, It made a mess alright. Was that a Hobby-Line case? It's just the case that RS isn't it? The forward and aft closures are ok?

Great photo Fridge 8)

Luckily the front and rear closure are fine, just blackened. It was a Monster Motors case that Dave kindly let me use. I still feel bad for busting it up. He was very good about it and understands that these things happen but still I cato'd it. It will be interesting to find out exactly what went wrong.

Hi Tantaris

Great Photo's !

...and I've just spoken to my commodities broker who tells me I should consider buying AP Futures based on a sudden peak in demand from West Australian.

BTW Any thoughts or commend on the RMS casing failure ?

A fractured grain perhaps ?

It shouldn't cost to much to replace just the case, if you can get the case on it's own. :?

It is/was definately a Monster Motors by Rouse Tech 29/120 case which for all the AP Noobs out there is slightly different to the 29/40-120 Hobbyline case.
The 29/120 case suits the G77R & the G79W, neither of these loads will fit a 29/40-120 case.

I am not in the slightest concerned about the case loss, although I feel for Jason, who has suffered a few failures through no fault of his own. The closures I'm sure will be fine, and I am happy to let Jason try to re-coup his losses via the AT warranty route.
My understanding is that AT have a pretty good rep with regard to replacement of items if it deems that it was in fact manufacturer fault.
As the rocket in question was also an AT product, they may well even replace that.
If they replace the case, great ....if they don't, I am not worried....as long as someone got the video!.......As another great showman (John Force of NHRA Funny Car Fame) said "If it's on fire or upside down keep the cameras rolling....It's good for the fans!"

I just hope Jason don't get disheartened with the loss, we need members like him in our chosen hobby.

I've finally extracted a digit and am uploading some of the photos. But I must say, I'm feeling a little Mary MacGregor at the moment - Torn between two forums.

Anyway, we didn't get there 'til midday and I was off my game most of the day 'cause they're all a bit Copperfieldesque - One minute they're on the pad in front of you... the next, nothing but smoke!

Oh, and they're set up for a 1280 wide screen too, apologies to anyone with a smaller screen.
