Western Australia Launch 9th September

Postby Scoop1261 » Thu Aug 23, 2007 8:07 pm

Clearly the 9th of September is a popular scheduled launch day.
Weather permitting Western Australia's next day out at Toodyay is to be the 9th of Sept aswell.

I'm sure there will be the usual suspects with a few items to put up.
Dunno if MarkH has exhausted his stock of I200W's or H268R's yet, but his Matrix is sure as heck logging few HPR flights.

Don't think I will have any surprises to pull out this time......but then again????

Hehehe..., no haven't used them all up just yet! Still one of each left, one for September and one for October.

I have a H97J waiting to fly in the AMRAAM2.

Itd' be nice if some new motors turned up soon (before the season ends)!!

Its not that far way really.

A great day. I'll let others tell their own stories...

I flew the AMRAAM2 on G64's twice and on a G77
The Matrix went up on a H268.
The Canadian Arrow lawn darted after kicking the E9 out the back.

Here's a couple of Dave's flights

Here's a sequence of frame grabs.

Thanks Mark, I didn't really get the chance to experience it, but you captured it beautifully......As Bruce MacAveny would say.........Ahhhhhhh SPEECIAL!

We had a good day out, I am still pinching myself over the Aerobee Hi shot.
Thanks to all those who helped & to Mark for his tireless video footage.

It is my understanding that this was the 1st composite 2 stage launch in WA, and trust me, it certainly won't be the last.

Onto project AS ......that will be interesting!

What a great day, awesome weather and lots of brilliant flights.

I only launched 2 rockets the Hawk and the Warthog. Both were successful and came back unscathed, which for me is a big deal after my failures this year.

Photos will follow but in a week or two. I put away the digital and went "old school" and shot everything on film. Here's hoping they come out fine.

Yeah Dave, I didn't really know if I caught much of the the Aerobee flight. It really threw me when the H238 kicked in! I was glad to see I got what I posted.

Jason, I enjoyed both the Hawk and Warthog flights. I should have videod them....(and a few of the others)

I'm getting a bit slack in that department - the footage shows it too!
