Launch Day & AGM 28th Sep

Postby Kryten » Thu Sep 19, 2013 4:47 pm

The next scheduled launch day is Saturday 28th September.
A reminder that we will also be holding the AGM, so it would be a good idea to bring a chair or 2, and a gazebo if you have one

Looks like I have my timing wrong in NSW. I am travelling round Aus teaching fibreoptics courses for Telstra. So far, I have made it to Rocket meetings in Qld & WA on the weekends. SA was intreresting - could not buy D! motors without being a member of a club and in WA I had to beg to be allowed to sign for Ds.

Anyone thinking of low or mid power this weekend 21st or 22nd Sep and know a suitable site?

Unfortunately, that doesn't surprise me. There is unfortunately 1 individual in this country who's done significant damage to the community of this hobby and now you have experienced some of this BS 1st hand. In WA, you should have contacted Scoop to fly with the boys there.

I did meet Scoop & Co in WA and a good time was had by all! :)

I was particularly impressed by the WA people to use theodolite technology to recover rockets from vast distances on windy days. Unfortunately one bird did not return to the nest. It may have found a tree about 2km away!

My approach to this problem is to build large, light weight, low/mid power rockets. Different! but it's a broad church and I always get them back.

This Launch has been cancelled due to the Fire Ban tomorrow. :( The wind was also looking iffy for tomorrow.
See you all at the next scheduled launch.
