Mullaley HPR Launch 4-6 October 2014

Postby air.command » Thu Oct 23, 2014 6:34 pm

Hi Guys,

Two and half weeks ago NSWRA held its first HPR launch at the new Mullaley launch site. The launch site itself is great with wide open land and the weather on the weekend was almost perfect if not for a little breeze. NSWRA had also been invited that weekend to participate in the Siding Spring Observatory's open day which was fairly close to the new launch site. There were a total of 34 flights on the weekend ranging from C's to H's.

Here are some photos from the launch:

Andrew's Blackbird was powered by H128W. It was a great flight, but unfortunately the main deployed shortly after the drogue which resulted in Andrew just missing out on his L1.

Great news about the new site !

Awesome that the club has a HPR site of their own now.

Hi NSWRA folk

Congratulations on the acquisition of a new HPR site - it looks ideal! Hope you have many great launches there.

A video of some of the flights from Mullaley:

There were more good flights, but I didn't film them because I was prepping rockets. There is always next time.
