I had been eyeing off the police paddocks, but I'd suspect the answer would be 'no' just in case any nearby horses got spooked.

I've got someone out Wonthaggi way looking about on my behalf, but so far it's not looking promising. Is anyone else having any luck?

C'mon, if we ever want to launch bigger than 'E', we hafta find a bigger field!

Theres a spot on frankston dandy road south of thompsons road I've been eying off, looks like they'e preparing either for growing turf or construction.

They leave the gates open of a night/weekend.

Haven't had the time to have a poke around but it's a massive site.

Yeah, a construction company, hard to read from the road, will check on the way home.

I know we shouldn't bump, but I thought I might bring this to the top as a reminder that we should keep our eyes open over the festive season for a larger site

Humpf!

I've found some lovely possible sites, but sites around Ballina and Byron Bay don't really help us at all!

What about somewhere near Geelong? There seems to be plenty of unused land around there, or is that too far away?

Although Geelong isn't that far away, getting there can be a drag.

I frequently shoot at Geelong Pistol Club, and it takes longer to get there and get home again than it does to shoot the match.

Not at all rapt in Geelong... :?

Wasn't there someone on this forum who was from over Werribee or Geelong way?

I know someone over in Hoppers Crossing who's interested in rockets, but he doesn't come over to Dandenong for much the same reason.

Its probably too far away but i launch at Lake Burrumbeet (just west of Ballarat) because its been empty for 3 years and its huge. Also the parks bloke for the council told me to go for my life because no-one else can use it for anything. 2hrs from the wetlands where you are now, The north wind can be a bitch though.

That does look good :) 174kms from Dandy Wetlands. Pick a nice day and leave home at 9, we'd be flying by 11:30 and could be home by dinner time and no SWMBO would know the difference ;)

Trust me on this - they ALWAYS end up knowing, somehow. :(
