Hello Melbourne Rocketeers,
Rocketfest XI is on Sunday 6th June as usual at Eric's pad near Beaconsfield Reservoir at 12 noon.

It has been too long (November) since the last Rocketfest and one flier has had his rocket ready since the Christmas break!

If the weather looks dodgy, check back here on Sunday am for postponements.

You are invited to fly (399.9 feet) or watch, be warned though our 20 acre site is not exactly flat and there are a "few" trees, which one of our number specialises in finding.

Parking is also limited but expandable, so it would be good for me to have an idea of how many people might come.

If you want to come pls send me a "pm" with your email address, or send an email to rockets4u@optusnet.com.au & I will send all the details.

The winds were non existent at Rocketfest X and Colossus II my latest "BFR" (Big Flexible Rocket) flew well It ended up as 10.65m tall. For more detail. See BFR thread under "scratch built" &/or check out Youtube - "Rocketfest X" - Thanks Peter!

Hope to see you there - rockets4u

Rocketfest XI is on 12 noon today.

The forecast for the rest of Sunday is Cloudy. Scattered showers this morning, becoming more isolated in the afternoon. Winds southerly averaging up to 30 km/h.

Quite windy, but we have had a good day with similar weather. So reef in those parachutes or use streamers instead.

We have some cover for the rain, our host and local weather expert predicts mud underfoot. Perhaps add gum boots, a flask of soup and waterproofs to the usual list of things to bring.

Hello Melbourne Rocketeers,

Rocketfest XII is on Sunday 28th November as usual at Eric's pad at 12 noon near Beaconsfield Reservoir at 12 noon.

If the weather looks dodgy, check back here on Sunday am for postponements.

You are invited to fly (399.9 feet) or watch, be warned though our 20 acre site is not exactly flat and there are a "few" trees, which one of our number specialises in finding.

If you want to come pls send me a "pm" with your email address, or send an email to rockets4u@optusnet.com.au & I will send all the details.

This time the challenge to fliers is to design a rocket for demos in small spaces.

Rules:

Under 20Ns ie single D is max oomph.
Must be under 1500g (not usually a problem)
Keep under 400’
Must have a non-fragmentary recovery system
Must be expected to land within 50m in winds under 15km/hr

Hope to see you there - rockets4u

Ross was looking forward to last weekend. Suicidal conditions the last few. No one is crazy enough to launch anywhere resembling todays weather surely?

Im out for the next few weeks bud, puppy school! But next year im there to pick all the brains.

RocketFest XIII is On Tomorrow.

The fliers have rockets ready, and the weather prediction is a little improved, Isolated showers clearing later has changed to Isolated light showers clearing later.

Shelter will be available in the caravan,

It will be wet under foot, I suggest gumboots & a hot drink with lunch.

Hope to see you there!

The holidays aproaching and spring is here.
Anyone interested in launching these holidays?
I have built a rocket which is a bit big for the local oval, so I have the police paddocks in mind.
