Math/Science Teacher Looking For Info

Postby Rob » Tue Nov 18, 2008 6:44 pm

Hi All,
I'm a Math/Science teacher (Secondary) and would like to use rockets as a fun and engaging medium for teaching some real world math and science to my students. I know next to nothing about rockets, but I'm a quick and willing learner. I'm hoping to pick up some useful tips as to the best way to safely and cheaply introduce rockets into the classroom.

Earlier today I found this website (http://home.people.net.au/~aircommand/index.htm), which seems to me to be an outstanding resource. I was thinking of starting with the “Basic Water Rocket Construction” as detailed within the above site. Any comments, suggestions or other feedback greatly appreciated.

Lastly, I’m in the Albury/Wodonga region and if there are any experienced Rocketeers (water or pyro) in our area that would be willing to share their knowledge and experience, my students and I’d be most grateful.

Cheers,
Rob

(PS - sorry for the double post, I put this in the introductions section also)
