Hey guys, had this emailed to me today if anyone was interested:
Announcing the 2007 Unmanned Airborne Vehicle 'Outback Rescue' Challenge
The Steering Committee for the 2007, Unmanned Airborne Vehicle (UAV) ‘Outback Rescue’ Challenge is pleased to invite you to the competition, occurring during the first week of school holidays, from the 24th to the 26th of September at the Kingaroy Airport.
The Challenge will demonstrate the capabilities of UAVs and their potential to save lives by quickly and cost effectively delivering medical supplies to critically ill patients lost in the Australian Outback.
During the event, two Challenges will take place; the first is the Airborne Delivery Challenge for Queensland High Schools and; the second is the Search and Rescue Challenge for Universities, Hobbyists and Privateers.
The Challenge is open to the public and will provide an opportunity for the community to interact with UAV experts and discuss their potential civilian applications in Queensland, Australia and abroad.
QUT and the CSIRO-ICT Centre through ARCAA are hosting the competition. The event is sponsored by Boeing Australia, the Queensland State Government through the department of State Development, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Aerospace & Electronic Systems Society (AESS) and the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI).
