Flour Rockets

Postby air.command » Fri Dec 07, 2018 8:42 am

Had a bit of fun launching some water rockets powered by compressed air and dry flour at the last launch of the year. :D

They do make a bit of a mess on the ground though.

One of the things we did discuss was that we should have had another rocket with eggs and one with sugar. To top it off a rocket filled with candles, and then a pyro rocket to cook it all and light the candles :) :D

If one of these has a bad landing does it end up as flat as a pancake? :D

Cheers guys. :D

I was doing a little more research on powder rockets today, and I had no idea that there was research done in this area in the early 70's in injecting powedered propellant (rather than liquids or solids) into a combustion chamber.

Here is the research paper done by Bell Aerospace.
