Vashon Motor System

Postby EMiR » Mon Mar 22, 2010 7:13 pm

Hey guys/Air.command

I come accross this in my inet travels, it looks like it from the 60/70's, and what I can make of it, its a cold liquid propelled motor system.
thought it may be of interest.

These things are collectors items now. Big $$$
Some guys still fly them. Using butane instead of freon...
The way they did the deployment was very clever.. I've been tempted to try something simillar for hybrids...

Very nice :) Thanks for the great read. I love reading old instructions.

"Warm propellant gives good performance and high flights; cold propellant may not even get the rocket off the launch pad" (pp28)

On cold days you'll need to warm up the rocket with your hands. :D
Crop Circles: ... just a bunch of guys looking for their rockets ....
