Could someone please explain the simplest method for inserting images in a post? I have tried using the insert image from the toolbar without success. What public web storage do people use?

Thanks, in advance. :?

All good now. I've opened my eyes to see how simple it is!

I am very averse to using external hosting sites for pics. I have had quite a few early posts essentially eliminated becuase of change in hosting policies of sites.

I usually just resize the image below the reqired 250kB and insert it for storage on the ausrocketry server.

YMMV.

TinyPic's terms of service indicate that they will delete photos if they've not been viewed in 90 days...

Q: How long are images kept?
A: The images are kept until they have not been viewed for 90 days. After 90 days have elapsed, your image may be removed.

I find it frustrating when you go through a thread someone has obviously spent a lot of time on but was posted years ago and all the images are gone do to image host issues. Have a look at the sticked "Properly bonding composites" thread over on TRF if you want an example.

Funnily enough TinyPic is owned by Photobucket.

I use Google Photos. It's free and gives me the option of controlling my photos completely. So if I want to pull something down all I need to do is mark the photo as Private in Google Photos and that removes it from any post I have embedded the picture in. Further if I want to post in more than one place I only need to upload the photo once to Google Photos and then link to it from that post.

That's my feeling too, OTT! I just dragged and dropped the images in this instance, then inserted.

Thanks for the tips guys.

Cheers

You don’t have to join or create an album.. just drag your pic, click on it, copy and paste the URL and it will last forever.
