Cedar Grove launch site ?

Postby CATO » Sat Dec 29, 2018 7:16 pm

So I had the pleasure of visiting the Gold Coast for a week about a week ago (worst storms in 20 years). One day we visited the Silkworm Caves, Winery and Thundabird Park at Mt Tambourine, we also had the intention of visiting some friends in Brisbane, unfortunately we ran out of time due to the previous 2 days bad weather.

On the way back to the hotel we visited Jimbooma and the Cedar Grove launch site, I was surprised to see that close to the site (Right hand side of the entrance) was under development

Merry Christmas David, you were only 5min from my place, shame I missed you coming past.

That is actually really good for QRS as when the works are completed the land becomes unusable for development aka perfect for rockets. It has not hindered our launches at all and since it is a council project they have been phenomenal supporters of all rocket activities.

Hi Blake,

That’s great news, it would be a shame to lose the site, but I guess that’s the price of progress.

Hi David, and a funny story behind that development is that they were going to do that nearly 10 years ago.....took them a while hey....
