Its definitely great to see the L3 numbers steadily growing, and the L3 tattoo tradition continuing. George started off a new tradition with the first L3 attempt at Tripoli Queensland's Westmar site in June this year, where upon the successful completion of his L3 flight, George shouted an evening of celebratory drinks for all L3 members in attendance - which is certainly a tradition I'm happy to keep going :D

Just to make a minor correction to the order Scoop, Karl Hemphill achieved his L3 before Trevor Boyd.

I think the number of people who are achieving level 3 certification just shows how the hobby is progressing in Australia. I put this down largely to the efforts of the "trailblazers" like yourself and others who have encouraged and inspired people like me. I also put it down to Blake who has played a huge part by providing easy access to kits, construction materials, parts and motors.

I am particularly pleased that Drew and some other idiot were able to be added to the list this weekend! :wink:

Seriously, without those guys busting the motor supply monopoly and giving the rest of us the opportunity and choice to fly reasonably priced motors, the list would be somewhat shorter than it is, I'm sure.

I suspect having 3 of the best TAPS on the planet in Australia helps too 8)

Just a bit of an abstraction/aside: score is 7/7 for location too. Serpentine V's Williams...

Start of the next great Australian sporting rivalry perhaps? :lol: :lol: :lol:

So if I'm reading this correctly, Nic has thrown down the gauntlet to all non-L3 fliers and would like to see 56 L3 fliers in Australia by the 20th March 2016. That's 28 successful certifications in the next 333 days. This is going to be interesting.
