SpaceX achieved what was thought to be the impossible by landing a first stage Falcon 9 on a floating barge at Sea.
Orbital ATK brought Antares back to flight after the explosion in 2014.
Unfortunately not all went well for 2016, SpaceX had a launch pad explosion destroying their rocket and AMOS-6 satellite for AMOS putting an end their launches for the year.
In December we lost astronauts, hero and first American to orbit Earth John Glenn. And British astronaut Piers Sellers who lost his battle with cancer after flying the Space Shuttle three times.
