LEGO Saturn V announced.

LEGO has officially taken the wraps off this massive 1:110 scale rocket. First announced last June, the Saturn V will be the largest ever fan-designed LEGO Ideas set with 1,969 pieces, giving even the part count a nod to the year of mankind’s first steps on the moon. The rocket itself stands 39 in. tall (100cm), and consists of three stages with a full complement of the lunar orbiter, lunar lander, command module with flotation devices, and three astronaut microfigures.

I'm in. I reckon I'll buy one and put it in the attic until my boy's old enough to build it and then we'll do it together. It looks stunning.

How cool it that?

Goes on sale from 1st of June 2017 at the recommended retail price of USD$120, EUR€120 or GBP£110. I think that makes it the AUD$250 RRP price point here in Australia.

The new "NASA APOLLO SATURN V" set (No. 21309) is available now.

There are a couple of listings on Brickset.com for AUD$239.00 (plus postage). bricklink.com has some listings for around AUD$190 (plus postage).
ebay.com.au has some listings for around AUD$239.00 (free shipping from within Australia). I didn't see any listed on gumtree.com.au.

I can't see anything online from any bricks-and-mortar retailers in Australia.

The designers produced a version that had internal tankage and better J2 engines IMO. Pitty it didn't make the cut. Apparently demand has been much higher than expected, so perhaps will not ship to Aus for some time.

Just ordered one! I have never bought Lego in my life until now :)

Just been reading the December 1969 issue of National Geographic that I picked up at an op-shop a couple of years back. Great article on Apollo 11 and the future of space. Much has not happened that they predicted.
