Completely understand, editing can chew-up a whole lotta time.

I'll post some updates (including stills and video) soon!

Looking forward to that!

When the Yi 4k+ was announced and I saw it could do 60fps at 4k... I got a bit excited hoping this meant it could do 240fps @ 1080 and 480fps @720, but sadly it cannot :(

I'm in the city for some training today but I've got a few minutes before it starts. I figured I had time to share a still image from the onboard video of my CATO. Check this out! I dumped my TeleGPS data last night as well, "apogee" was at ~600 ft agl.

As metioned last week I was able to recover footage of the CATO from my camera. Here's a few stills from the video.

As linked above, here's the initial CATO.

And quite a pretty shot from the post CATO descent.

And another.

A shot of the flight line.

And finally a few of the stills in the video caught a couple grains that were spat out of the top of the motor post CATO as can be seen below.

As you can see, while the rocket came down the grains kept going. I can only imagine they went all the way TO THE MOON!!!

I'll get the videos onto Youtube shortly.

And here are the videos. One has been rotated (and chopped) whilst the other is unrotated. Best viewed in 1080p60.

Hey Drew, looks like the forward closure let go or did the case separate, any thoughts as to why the CATO occurred?

Thanks for the heads up RE the stills Viking, I'll look into it and possibly resubmit. Strange though, I can see them fine and they're in as publicly shared album of Google Photos.

CATO, leave it up to you eh?!?!

My expectation is that I had a forward closure O ring failure or possibly a failure of seating between the forward closure and phenolic liner. The CTI 6G-XL casing split clean in two and both pieces were found. Shout out to the little d00d who found the relatively tiny forward bit and brought it back to me on the flight line!!! So yea, full burn through in the area of the CTI K300 forward closure. It burned a nice hole clean through the casing and once it burnt through it peeled back like a tin can.

I might take a couple more photos and post them, that is assuming I'm first able to sort out the photo posting issue Viking highlighted above!
