I have opted for a modular approach to avbay sleds. This was driven by a desire to accommodate different switch technologies, including: screw, plug & magnetic switches. As seen in the images below, the avionics module has three components: two half sleds & a central switch band. In this case, the half sled is designed to fit an Altus Metrum EasyMini altimeter and a LiPo battery, and two holes in each bulkhead for igniter wiring. Each half sled fits in to recesses in the central switch band. The avbay components are held together between the two Aluminium bulk plates with two 6 mm threaded nylon rods and nylon nuts.

These modules have survived several flights and have proven to be very versatile.
