The Western Australian Rocketry Society INC. cordially extends an invitation to WARS & AMRS members and their invited guests to attend the range located at Grass Valley 75kms east of Perth, on Sunday the 30th of July for one of our regular club launches for the 2017 season.

The CASA instrument permits launches of HPR up to a maximum ceiling of 7,000ft. DMP has given permissions for the use of J, K, L & M impulse motors.

Facilities will be available onsite for AMRS members wishing to attempt L1, L2 & L3 certifications

The range will open for operation at 09:30 and will continue through to 17:00. Any assistance with range setup is appreciated.

The weather in Perth this week has been wet to say the least!
The forecasts for Grass Valley:

Friday 28th - Wet & Windy
Saturday 29th - Wet & Windy
Sunday 30th - Clearing with very light winds
Monday 31st - Wet & Windy

I think we will trust the forecast and go for launch! :D

What a day! Still sorting through photos, have an unusually large number of a yellow rocket sitting on the pad doing not a lot... Apart from that amazing weather and some awesome launches. Had a great time, I flew my first reloadable, my first sparky, and thanks to the incredible generosity of Scoop with a loan case and motor I flew my first H and did my first cert flight!

Huge thanks to everyone there today, plenty of help and friendly advice when it was needed.ImageImage

Congrats on the L1 Ben!

It was perfect Strud, there was a very light breeze around lunch but it didn't hang around for long.
I'll have some photo's to post later tonight.

I think Sani got his L2 his friend(I didn't catch his name) also got his L1?
Is that a WARS record, 3 successful cert flights in one day?

Seems I was a bit trigger happy on Sunday, had ~300 images to weed through.

Couple of my shots from the day. Need more practice on some of the faster ones but loving the way sparkies look coming off the pad. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
