I guess they are having too much fun launching too many high power rockets! :D

Either that or the internet hasn't made it to WA yet...

PS I don't thing there is anything such as "too many high-power rockets"!

Or perhaps we just haven't sobered up enough to type.

Many, many great flights lots-o-gps/rdf assisted retrievals. Much fun being had by all!

Well, my photos are finally all uploaded:
http://www.markhphoto.com.au/Rocketry/W ... &k=FChvmjX

A few highlights:
The whole crowd:
Image

Drew's... whatever it was, PK called it Purdy Lips.
Image

The alien, with the alien...
Image

CGN's very sparky M:

Image

Blake's very sparky M:
Image
Image
Ending in similar fashion to Dave's...
Image

Nik's very sparky M... also with similar results:
Image

Interesting mode of transport... the rocket car!
Image

Drew probably wont want to talk to me after this picture, but this is him with his bullpuppy. He think's it's fabulous
Image
But DAMN, that thing went off FAST!
Image

Mark Haslam launched a two stager...
Image

This was a fantastic looking rocket.. not sure who it belonged to:
Image

Chris did war upon the sound barrier, melting all his paint, winning the Mach Madness contest, and also gaining his L2 cert (you'll remember he gained his L1 cert with a Mach Madness entry last year):
Image
Image

Not sure who's rocket this was:
Image

This was the hexagonal bodied rocket:
Image

I launched my rocket... however didn't get any very good photos of it. If you got some good photos of Tarryn's or My rocket please PM me!
Image
And with a successful recovery gained a L1 cert.

The crazy L3 hybrid rocket car left the car behind and screamed into the sky:
Image
A successful L3 cert was achieved with what was considered the ugliest rocket of the day!

I don't remember this guy's name, but he gained his L1 cert with this rocket painted PK Orange:
Image

I believe my Fiancee Tarryn was the only woman firing a rocket on the day:
Image
Image
Image
She too gained her L1 certification, and took out the Mach Madness contest for L1 fliers (as the only entry, with a blazing subsonic speed of 363km/h)

Our Mach Madness winners won CTI starter sets for the level they entered into:

I think everyone will agree with me that it was a fantastic weekend with some amazing company!

In the end the it was just between me and Drew, and I only just beat him with Mach 1.66. Drew reckons he'll get me back next year...

Always wondered what a L3 lawn dart looked like! No more guessing now! Sorry to see that happen though! Still no matter what level you fly at, you cant defeat the laws of physics! What goes up, must come down (one way or another!). :D

Yep..... Great weekend of flights!
As a matter of fact I have not long ago walked in the door from getting back from Williams.

In fairness, the analysis of failure has not necessarily been completed on the 3 Gorilla M1565BL's yet, but suffice to say they certainly are as close to the old AMW Skidmarks that you are going to see. The noise, the colour and the amount of sparkiness is remarkable!

Not one of the three rockets flown in the Gorilla M1565BL drag race failed because of construction, and none of them separated prematurely because of preparedness, it would appear that a small hole in the forward closure (primarily for attaching a transducer in testing) was not plugged and may have led to leakage through the forward closure.

None of the three motor hardware appears to be inordinately damaged, but further investigation will be required.

Some of the other great flights that are not depicted in the photos include the mighty 10" Sledgehammer on an N2000W, Drew's firestorm on a CTI L1030 Red lighting, Sean's Nike Smoke on a CTI G250 VMax, Nic's Tin Tin Rocket on a J350 plus three G64W's and FBD's Talon 2 for a successful level 2 certification on a J350W.

Speaking of certifications, there were 7 successful attempts at various levels during the course of the event, and a hearty congratulations to all.

There were also plenty of first time visitors, of which I am sure will produce a crop of new members!

I'm buggered ...... so more later!

Not what you want too see coming at you from out of the fog early on a Saturday morning after a night on the piss...

Yeah... I don't know either

and the result of Steve's curious honing technique

The Alien on something appropriately green

After 22 shots of spitting and pussying around, this is all I got of Scoops Talonesque 6 incher

Oh, and this...
12A_1281 T6.jpg

Then Blake and Nick crossed their fingers to acheive these launches :D

12A_1314 Nicks.jpg

and these recoveries :(

Yep, even small holes can be a bit of a trap for the unsuspecting player!

Drew put his Bullpup up and a Skidmark too, which was a great looking combo
12A_1374 Bullpup.jpg

Mark's Quantum Leap was a sight indeed
12A_1397 QL.jpg

And sooo cool to watch 8)
12A_1404 QL.jpg

FBD's Talon 2 with a surprise 38mm mount for his Level 2
12A_1477 T2.jpg

Chris's Mach Madness entry. There was just over a second of flame when the pressure arrived and then bang. It was outta here.
12A_1568 MM.jpg

Ballistic Chicken Insanity. Nothing more to say.
12A_1578 BCI.jpg

This was Keith's cool little Hexagonal Rocket. Was lost in the wilderness there for a while but was found today which was nice.
12A_1636 Hex.jpg

Now this rocket, for my money, was a masterpiece! Sourced from the comic book series The Adventures of Tin Tin. An upscale version is likely on the way.
12A_1669 Tin Tin.jpg

Drew's Mach Madness entry. His beloved Firestorm!
12A_1710 Firestorm.jpg

Sean and his Nike Smoke. Sorry Sean, my pics of the launch are blurry

Dunno what this is but it flew... and flew... and flew... and just kept on flewing! M900? More like an M90!

This insane V2 launch in the diminishing light was a really cool flight.
12A_1887 V2.jpg

And finally, the last flight I was able to get a pic of. Nicks Sledge Hammer
12A_1931 Sledgehammer.jpg

This was a really fun event. I tried to get a shot of everyone's launch but just wasn't able to pull it off. I hope everyone made it home safely and look forward to seeing you all again some time in the future.

Cheers
