With the last items returned to Perth, and much of the unpacking, sorting gear, and re-organizing of storage now done, I am very happy to say that the Williams "Wildfire" Westernationals 2016 - Destination Moon was an unmitigated success!

A HUGE thanks to all those who attended from far & wide, thanks also to the locals who helped with setup, tear down, logistics, catering and so much more.
Thank you to all the flyers, and attendees who have posted photos or video, thank you to our sponsors who made a whole heap of infrastructure possible.

Thank you to Blake for coordinating a killer Fireworks extravaganza and arranging shipping and supply of various motors.

We couldn't do these types of events without the support of our rocketry community, thanks AMRS for endorsing the "National Circus" events! I look forward to the next one somewhere on the East coast and to Thunda 2018!

Hopefully we will return to Williams in 2019 with the next installment in the adventure!

I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to say it at the banquet on the Saturday night before the fireworks, but again the biggest thanks must goto Dave (aka Scoop), Mel (aka Lamington Lady) and Denholm (aka Denholm) for the endless hours and effort that go into running a major event like this. Having first hand experience, I know it can be trying, but seeing the support from our small but ever growing and very active collaboration of rocketeers and their families is priceless!!

Having barely unpacked from WWW2016 and just returning from Victoria on the weekend for other rocket activities, I look forward to spending this coming weekend in Perth again for AYRC where we will undoubtedly be discussing the next big event. There are big shoes to fill now as WARS has taken the 'rocket party' to a whole new level!

Firstly, A massive thank you to Dave, Mel & Dee for everything they did to put this amazing event together!! Your generosity and hospitality are second to none. Thank you a million times over and I can't wait to see you guys again.

My apologies for posting so late, but I only got back home a few days ago. My time in Australia was too short. There was simply too little time to catch up with all the great people I met almost five years ago. Not to mention, meet all the new faces that have since joined this amazing group. I really wish I could have met everyone, and I am sure I did not ... So I guess that means I will be coming back! Here are just a few of my personal pictures taken over the 7 days I was in Aus. I have some video I am editing and hope to post that soon as well.

After all these years I finally figured out how to get Blake out of my hair ... Give him a bunch of fireworks to set-up. Ritalin is no match for a bunch of fireworks!

Drew - What can I say. Thank you for this amazing treat. Believe it or not, the last time I had deep fried turkey was in Aus 5 years ago. It seems I have to travel 12,000 miles to have it... I will be back for more!

Because we were outside the reach of the PA system when this M2250 MD was launched, I did not hear the flight announcement. I only now, having watched one of the flight line videos, realized that the rocket was dubbed "Little Mikey" F*ckers ....

A massive thank you to Nic & Margreth for thinking of me and hauling this beautiful piece of work out to WA so I would have something to fly.

David Bell's Patriot. Truly a treat to see in person. This is one of my all time favorite missiles. David's build quality did it all the justice it deserves and more. Congrats on the great flight David!

Al working diligently until he realized the the fins wouldn't clear the launch tower rings  I think the tower builder must have got the imperial and metric units mixed up. Perhaps a case of too much Bundy & Coke? :P

Awesome pictures Little Mikey!

Seriously though, it was great to have you back in WA. You can always count on a deep fried turkey anytime you're in Perth!

Hey everyone,
Sorry this took so long, but I have been really busy. Anyway.....

A big thanks to EVERYONE involved, for putting on this great event and I was really happy I could attend and be a part of it. I had a blast and would really like to do it all again. It was so great to see old friends, make new friends (who will be old friends next time I see you), hang out, drink, eat and be merry all weekend. Oh yeah, I think there was a rocket launch involved, also! A 45KW generator? HUGE LED screen and a massive marquee? Wow. And the food, it was the best! the kitchen staff did such a wonderful job, out in the middle of nowhere. And I saw them tasting everything to make sure it all turned out great! what dedication!

Mel and Dave, a big thanks for putting me up and putting up with me! I could not ask for better hosts.
Drew and Jodi, always a great time when we meet up and treating me like part of the family.(Drew, I got pictures to send you)
Margreth, I NEED MY MEDICINE!
Nic, after I had to FIX your tower with a skill saw, to launch my rocket, you just left it with Dave?!?!? What's up with that?
Chris, you are way too quite, but now I know for sure that you are indeed, sneaky!
Joe, great meeting you and your family and we had some great talks around the fire pit.
Sam, please don't depend on me to find your rocket anymore, I can't take the pressure, and want to end with a 100% recovery record!
David, I got this rocket that needs a travel case. Oh, okay, never mind, I'll stick with my suitcase or cardboard box.
Blake, I made it out of the country before the authorities found me. (Geesh, let the American do it, so we don't get into trouble!?!)

Just to repeat myself, I am old you know, it was great time and I hope I made a lot of new friends. I love hanging out with the people of Oz, you all are the best in my book.

It was great to meet you Al, (crossing paths at Thunda didn't really count) so glad that you made the trip and hopefully we will meet again at another launch in the not to distant future.
