Took the wife and kids to see this last night, it was interesting watching my daughters (14 & 11) faces when scenes of segregation and sexism were shown, the 11 year old (whilst aware of segregation and sexism) asked if this was truly what happened at NASA / America, and stated that she was lucky to born white, in Australia, and at this time (no racism intended), and that she would never treat people the way that the "colored calculators" were treated.

I guess time will judge us all...

I also saw it yesterday with the wife and I must say it was one of the better movies I've seen.....it is amazing for me to think that when I was a young boy growing up in my country of birth, Finland, this segregation and sexism was happening right then..... :(

Really worth the watch..... 8) :D

Found the DVD for sale at woolworths for $15 (was incorrectly marked $28).

NASA has a short bio for Katherine on their web site
https://www.nasa.gov/content/katherine- ... -biography

Here's and extract:
"When asked to name her greatest contribution to space exploration, Katherine Johnson talks about the calculations that helped synch Project Apollo’s Lunar Lander with the moon-orbiting Command and Service Module."

This of course was the very problem that made lunar randevu seam like a ridiculous method of getting to the moon.
