Farewell Chris Kraft

Postby Wingnut » Wed Jul 24, 2019 4:25 pm

Chris Kraft, first Flight Director at NASA and later the NASA Director of Flight Operations, passed away on Monday 22nd July in Houston, Texas. He was 95 years old.

Chris Kraft joined NASA back in 1958 and was notable for establishing much of NASA's Mission Control operation.

He retired from NASA in 1982.

I have a copy of Chris Kraft's autobiography "Flight: My Life in Mission Control" (2001). I'm only about 25% through the book, but it is a great read.

Bye,
Mike
