S S Cestris build

Postby OverTheTop » Thu Apr 23, 2009 9:49 pm

Here is a bit of a thread of my build of the Sirius Rocketry S.S. Cestris.

Kit went together really well. Things that seemed a bit flexible during the build but firmed up great when the parts were all put together.

Blow-molded nose cone looks great and is something different to most other kits to assemble.

Need a baffle and an engine mount now...

I need to upgrade it to 29mm I think, just for fun!

Finishing, filling and painting will be a long job. Result will be great.

Finally completed the SS Cestris. Here are some pics of the slightly less anemic bird.

I stuck with the 24mm mount in the end.

As with the Interrogator kit from Sirius, the kit was very nice to assemble. Final result is quite strong with a good solid feel.

Decals add nice detail to add to the fun and finish of the final product.

Some of my images are falling off posts, so I am attaching a couple here to avoid that.

Additional black details were added using a drafting pen.

This rocket flies really well!

Very cool! David @ Sirius has designed some nice models. I've been eyeing off the Interrogator G for years.

Fantastic to build and fly. Looks good on display too!

Real nice looking. So clean and smooth, looks like it's in flight standing still.
My hat is off to you for a gerat build. No one designes like Dave at Sirius Rocketry.
