Wayne, the Mountain Creek is the one and they will start most likely 8.45am so any time after will be right. Blake and I are planning to be there around 9-9.30am. There will be 6-7 launch pads operating ! 8)

I received some very good news about our future school visits and great news for the AYRC today. More about this very soon !

Air Command, your greetings were delivered to Mrs. King and the kids and they sent huge greetings back to you. They thanked you so much for all your help with their water rockets, great work George ! :D

No demo rockets are needed, just yourself to help out.

Last year it was like mass production helping load and fire. You will see how quick it goes on the day though ;-) I am anticipating to launch 200 rockets in 3½hours (Yes it is very possible)

Wayne, I'll bring you a spare shirt as it's "extra" if you can fit into M ? It has only one small light spot on it thus real cheap !

Update on the display programme : Beaudesert State Primary is on Mond. the 8th of November. Start is at 9.30am, we'll be there by 9am latest.

Then after lunch we will move to Beaudesert State High where the display will take place at 2pm. We'll get there around 1pm to set up.

Here is the very exciting bit : At the Primary school we'll also be meeting with the "Science Facilitator", part of the QLD Gov. initiative to "push" science to students across the State. I had a very positive call from this lady a week ago. She had heard what we have been doing with rocketry at schools and wants to expand that further. She is in charge of the "South East Rim" which covers a lot of schools indeed. More about this later ! :D

What's the address of the Primary School ? .... I know where the high school is.

I'll try to get there, but that's on the same morning as the Brazilian GP, and guess who'll be staying up all night to watch that? :)

Without doubt today was one of the biggest day in rocketry at school level.

Blake, Rob and I assisted to launch around 175 rockets ( actual number to be confirmed) built by students from Mountain Creek State Primary School.

We started launching around 10am and we finished at 2.20pm with a lunch break between.

There were at least around 8 launches where we did a 4 way drag race and boy were these popular ! :D

It was a very busy day for not just the three of us but the teacher who organized it Craig Wockner, real credit to the school and big supporter of rocketry. 8)

Brendan, you ever heard of Google ?? I took out my old referdex just for you :If you take Ecole st from Albert st that should take you there. There are another 3 roads that will also take you to the school. :)

Hey Ari,

What a great day and great to see a school who is running a rocketry program.

It was really interesting to see the kids come out, some excited, some nervous, and few not overly interested. However, as soon as the first rocket of that group is launched - the game changes and you can see the excitement. An obvious 'bad question' was "who wants to go next" - they all did :D

It is also a great "reset button" as your teaching from the ground up, aside from the basics of a rockets construction. principles and preparation for flight, what's an aligator clip, and how to use them.

Standing in line at the Tuck-shop brought back some memories !

Good fun !

Hey Rob, it sure was something else yesterday. :D

Today saw us visiting Beaudesert Primary and the High Schools. :)

At the Primary we had around 60 students and our display was well received and this was the school that not only won the AYRC but got third also. Next year they reckon they will get 4 teams together for the AYRC. 8)

Petar, Blake and I were there. Petar did his moon talk followed by rocketry by myself and Blake.

I had decided to use another rocket for the demo launch and something unusual happened...no deployment....after checking the motor the ejection hadn't worked at all. This is the first ever for me where Estes motor had actually not ejected at all. Changed the rocket anyway and launched the old Patriot which went perfect.

At the High School it was around 120+ students and we repeated what was done at Primary. Brendan came to help us and take few photos, thank's mate.

We put the challenge there to "surely the High can beat the Primary" in the AYRC.

It was a great day and pretty long as we headed home after 3pm.

Another one at Emmaus College on Thur. am ! :)
