It would be good to get an extra table....anyone ?

Yes and yes. :)
I may have to disappear for a few hours and return (in time for lunch!)
I can bring a table if needed (and some rockets).

I have pics from the Fete display but I don't want to steal any thunder from the newsletter.
Should I stick 'em here?

Wow, another stunning day with blue skies, barely no wind and temp. was around +27c and what a big do this May Fest is at Mcgregor ! :D

It's easy to see that they get 10000 people there as the whole area is like a side show alley with huge variety of food. :P

I like to thank Ian, Jeff, Petar and George for helping all the way and we spoke to dozens of people about our awesome hobby ! In between we sampled food, spoke rockets and told jokes...what a great day ! 8)

BTW, it was so well organized with gazebo and table ready for us.

BTW 2, one of the best advertising stunts was the fact that as I was driving in to load to ute to go, I was escorted to our area by SES guy on a quad bike....now, my ute is add for rocketry indeed and so many people read the signs on it.

I'll be at Runcorn State High school on the 9th of August doing a display and talk which starts at 11.45am. :D

Again, anyone wanting to come for a look and see & support are more than welcome. 8)

Then on the 16th of August I'll be travelling to the Gold Coast to do the same for Bellview Park School and starting time again being 11.45am.

On the 30th of August Petar and I will be assisting kids at Logan North Library to build their very own rockets. This starts at 3.30pm and goes till around 4.45pm. This is part of the Science Week and part of Library's own annual Sci Fi and Fantasy month.

On the very next day, ie. 31st of August at Logan North Library starting from 6.30pm Petar and I will be doing the talk on rocketry with the display as usual. This is our third year running and is very popular.

August therefore is very busy month of rocketry ! :D

Another great display/talk is behind.....I had a pleasure of having Petar with me at Runcorn S.H.S. this morning as he has a connection with with a deputy principal there.

We had 150 keen students listening about what's rocketry all about. Number of teachers were present also and the great news is that thank's to their science teacher, they are doing rocketry already ! 8)

After the talk, we watched couple DVD's and then went to the big oval to do the launch. It took three goes to light up for some reason this time around but when it did, it was a text book launch and recovery.

I honestly believe these guys will have a team or two in the next years AYRC ! :D

On Thu. the 16th I headed to wonderful part of the world called Gold Coast with blue skies and very little wind to spaek off. I did a display/talk at Bellevue Park State School ( not Bellview as I had previously called it  ). This presentation was part of the science week.

I must say that this was one of the most welcoming of all places I have ever been to and I have been now to few indeed. :D

The staff was fantastic with 10 teachers present and 160 students from grades 5,6 and 7. Very attentive audience that paid attention full on.

At Q/A time we could have gone for hours but naturally this had to be cut due to time restrictions.

After the DVD's, I was blown away with a surprise presentation of a framed certificate of appreciation.

The launch was a perfect one all the way and ignited instantly this time around.

Then I was invited to have a lunch with the teachers and main topic was AYRC ! They really want to get involved next year which is good news.

I just had a reply to my "thank you email" from Karin who was the main coordinator of this display and it kind of says it all, so here.....

Hi Ari,

It was our pleasure! We are very thankful that you took the time out to come and visit us at Bellevue Park during Science Week.

The feedback from the kids and teachers is amazing. The kids really enjoyed your presentation and kept asking me to pass on their thanks. I have many photos and will adjust the colouring on them and then forward them on to you.

Thank you again!

Kind Regards,
Ebony, Nina and Karin

Sure Jeff....let's called it a "Rocket Star" !

The real stars are the students and I'm just a messenger !

I have another late minute booking and I'm heading to small school at Fernvale which is around one hours drive from south side of Brissie, past Ipswich.

This will take place 11.30am on this coming Friday the 24th. I really want to encourage these small country area schools to take part in AYRC ! Gives them a real purpose and goal in science to aim for !
