I have returned just couple of hours ago from Fernvale State School and this was a surprise package indeed.

A good surprise that is. I was told that part of the science week they got the Multipurpose Hall booked for two days for various activities and I was to talk to 2-3 classes.....well, once the other teachers found out about this display and talk the numbers just ballooned up....between 300-350 students attended this talk and around 15 teachers ! :D

Now, these halls echoes a lot and I had a nasty cold so I was worried that I might not be heard and there was no mike available. I didn't needed to worry as all students were so keen on listening what I shared. It was so good.

DVD's shown brought the "house down" with such a screams and applause. 8)

The whole school attended the launch which went perfect and the reception was truly awesome.

AYRC most likely will have new team or two next year from this school....one teacher, ex rocketeer couldn't believe how far the hobby had advanced and said he can't now wait to start again !

Petar and I have just finished a display and talk about rocketry at Logan North Library to 20+ people who booked to be there. Actually 30 people did book but as usual with these sort of free events some will not make it.

We had a captive audience who really paid attention to what was said and I believe we will see new faces again at our launches and as there were number of kids there with their parents ( all boys...funny that) we promoted AYRC and there was lot of interest....how many boys would NOT want to build and launch a rocket ?

Good night and positive feed back. BTW, all filled a form to show from 1 to 5 if they thought the presentation was good...librarian said she will post me the results which will be interesting to hear...have we done our job well ?

And we were at it again with Petar and thank's to Jeff for popping in at the Logan North Library ! 8)

There were 20 kids that were going to build their very own rockets but before that happened Petar explained to all how rockets are made and how they work...all this in simple terms as these were small kids.

I still had my rockets there from night before for a display and naturally parents were present thus giving us opportunity to advertise our club and AYRC. Club flyers were passed to all present.

NOTE : Last night as I mentioned there was a survey for all the people to fill and rate our "performance" with Petar. Well, I found out the results today and 1 was real bad while 5 was top marks.....ALL THE PEOPLE THERE RATED IT 5 in all areas...ie. was it interesting, was it entertaining, was it presented well etc. We must be doing something right !

Awesome work guys! I'm sure a lot of behind-the-scenes work goes into preparing the talks, setting up the displays and then packing it all up again when finished. Great to see you continuing to spread the word about this great hobby. Keep up the great work! :D

What are the dates for your national tour?
I wouldn't mind attending one to see how you do it

That $ 200.00 was well spent...thank's Rob.....   :P

Thank you Rob indeed, we are really getting it down to "art" bit by bit and it's a matter of following audience's reaction to keep it interesting.

NOTE : On the 15th of September from 12.30pm there will be a FETE held by Park Ridge State primary school at Mt.Lindesay Hwy ! As I won't be available for this one ( yeah, I know, unheard of.. ) due to my Vietnamese visitor is leaving next morning early so Petar is the man ! Now, I REALLY hope few of you could go and help Petar on the day, please !

Actual FETE will kick off at 2pm and will go till 7pm with fireworks at that time.

Thank you guys !! :D

I will be going to do a display and talk on rocketry next at Wellers Hill Vacation Care at Tarragindi on the 25th of Sept. which is Tuesday starting at 10.30am. Apparently 63 kids have booked to come and see "the show" ! If anyone is available on the day to come and help & support, you are more than welcome.
