ROCKETS Magazine April 2010

Postby Wingnut » Wed Apr 07, 2010 11:03 pm

The April 2010 issue of ROCKETS Magazine is out. Click on the picture (below) to download a preview:

    Image

Of course there's another bunch of great articles in this issue, including:
  • How to use GPS to find your rocket
  • Repair or install snap ring grooves in a motor case
  • Setting up on board video
  • A couple of reports on recent launch events in the USA
  • And, there's another instalment in the series on Advanced Flight Electronics for High-Power Rocketry.

I'll make another post when the magazine hit the country.

P.S. - if you need a sticker to enter the ROCKETS Magazine June 2010 sticker contest, please drop me a PM, and I'll ship you another sticker with the April issue of the magazine.

Ciao,
Mike

The April issues will leave the USA next week, so they should hit letter boxes across Australia the week after - somewhere between Mon 19th and Fri 23rd April.

Can I get mine posted Mike? My folks have decided to go 'wandering' with their new caravan and won't be home for some time...

The April issues were dispatched via Australia Post earlier today. Quite a few subscribers will receive a renewal reminder card inside their magazine. Please keep this card somewhere safe, because it contains your customer number, which you'll need in order to renew your subscription. The smart thing would be to renew when the exchange rate is at least USD$0.93, which has been occurring periodically of late.

There are a few more new subscribers from Aus/NZ again this time around. There is now a total of 33 subscribers: 31 from Australia and 2 from New Zealand. Good stuff!

Ciao,
Mike

Yep! All the mag's coming to Australia or New Zealand now get shipped to me in one carton along with a pile of pre-addressed envelopes. I stuff the mag's into the individual envelopes and send them via Australia Post. It's cheaper than sending individual magazines from the USA, and Bob and Neil reduced the price as a result. If you buy a back issue of the magazine it will also come in the bulk shipment. If you buy a heap of back issues at the same time, Bob will probably ship them direct to you.

Boy! It only takes you a single month to get through each issue. I still haven't got to the last article in the February issue. Either I'm a slow reader or my little one is higher maintenance than yours.

Breaking News - Please let me know if your April issue of ROCKETS magazine gets lost or damaged in the post. I have a few spare copies. I also have two spare copies of the October 2009 issue (i.e. the one featuring Williams "Wildfire" Westernationals 2009). The price is $9.00 per copy and that includes postage?

By the way, if your magazine gets damaged by Australia Post, please keep the envelope. You can make a claim for compensation, but you will need to present the envelope as proof that they handled it.

Ciao for now,
Mike

Actually Mike and Brendan, your replies made me feel better as I thought I'm the only poor soul out there not getting to read the mag straight away.

I can relate to Brendan too, last issue was also unopened for the first two weeks which is sad really. It's a great mag !

Thank's Mike again for making it happen to all of us. :)

Thanks RocketStar, might take you up on that offer since I'm interested in the 6" Research project.
