ROCKETS Magazine December 2010

Postby Wingnut » Sat Jan 01, 2011 2:01 pm

The December 2010 issue of ROCKETS Magazine is out. It looks packed with cool articles on various high power rocketry projects and a write-up on the BALLS 19 launch as well.

Click on the cover picture (below) to download a preview of the magazine:

I'll post here again when I've got some news about when magazines will arrive in Australia.

Ciao for now,
Mike

Hi Mike

I'll also take one, and any back issues you may be sitting on. Just need some account details... I probably should subscribe, but I'm hoping they switch to an electronic format soon? Everybody else seems to be doing it...

Thanks
Nic

I for one hope that they do not ever go an electronic route, as it would take away from my experience of reading a wonderful mag in a peaceful location with little distraction from the outside world! :D

Discussions with Bob Utley (RM Ed), suggested the traditional format is their preferred media.

I've never heard of any plans for the magazine to go electronic, but you never know.

If want to subscribe to the magazine, follow the simple prompts on the ROCKETS Magazine website. Here's a link. Don't forget to choose "Australia" in the Delivery drop-down box.

You can also get back issues on the website at this a link. There's a flat rate cost of USD$6.95 plus USD$2.00 for shipping on each back issue magazine. But cryoscum, I can do a better deal than that on the spares that I have. I'll send you a PM in the next day or so.

I got to read through my copy of the December issue today. There's an awesome article on the second flight of the Proteus project. There was an article in the April 2010 issue about the first flight of this rocket back in 2008. I just had to go back and read that first article all over again. Inspirational stuff! For those unfamiliar, this is a 6" minimum diameter rocket that did 85,000 feet on a "baby Q" motor.

One of my boys once posted on the first PARC forum that anything below a J motor was just a baby, it was only the inexperienced that disagreed :)
