Postby markf74 » Fri Jul 09, 2021 7:31 pm

Its Been like Christmas here. Got a delivery of the mac performance zodiac. Ever since I saw Legends Firestick I was intrigued by the canvas phenolic and had to get me one . I will bring it down on Sunday in case anyone wants to have a sticky before I put it together.ImageImage

Well another lockdown in seq , provides an opportunity to focus on rocket building - like I need an excuse . Anyway I made some progress on the mac performance Zodiac. I really love the canvas phenolic. Tried a new technique today by with use of balsa wells when putting the fins on. ImageImageImageImageImageImage

By Automotive do you mean 2 pack spray gun paints or Automotive spray cans?

I think I may have erred . This paint is an all in one . It's enamel but doesn't req anything further. I may have to start again. Bugger

I’ve got no real experience or advice to offer on that paint. I’ve used 2-pack clear coats, but they come in a spray can that is mixed immediately prior to use.

The automotive paint I’ve had success with is the duplicolour engine enamel range, but it’s also a spray can and is not 2-pack, but has a clear coast that is designed to be sprayed on to a still semi wet top coat.

I’m interested to hear how a spray gun works. I don’t have a compressor and limited space so I’m unlikely to go they spray gun direction at present.
