I Build Rockets - Manufacturer Launch

Postby krusty » Fri Jan 07, 2011 6:29 pm

Hi All,
Over the last 12 months, I have been working on a new project - a big and somewhat scary project - That of becoming a kit manufacturer!

I am therefore pleased to announce the beginning of "I Build Rockets" and the announcement of my first kit - the Ballistic Chicken!

Image

What's in the kit?

18” BT50 Body tube
BT50 Tube Marking Guide
Laser Cut Fin / stand-off set
Fin Alignment Template
Chicken head nose cone
3” BT20 Motor mount tube
BT20 Motor block
Engine hook
BT20 - BT50 Centring rings (x2)
12” Silver Mylar parachute
24” Parachute shroud lines (x3)
1m Elastic shock cord & Swivel
Shock cord tri-fold mount
2” launch lug
‘Ballistic Chicken’ Water slide decal
8 Page Instruction Manual

What motors can I use in this rocket?

The Ballistic Chicken will fly on a B6-4 and a C6-5

How much does all this rocketry goodness cost?

Just $35.00

Where can I get one of these??

The Ballistic Chicken will shortly be available from Suburban Rocketry

More kits are on the way including the Orbital Decay that will fly on G and H motors, ideal for L1 flights!

Cheers,
Krusty

Way to go krusty! Love the ballistic chicken rocket. :D That laser cutter will sure come in handy for your kits. Good to hear you are hooking up through Suburban Rocketry as well.

I must have a Ballistic Chicken rocket! Bones, when can I buy one?
My wife would like to know "Does it come with other attachments?". I'm Not sure what she means.

Congratulations on the kit release Krusty.

I already have one of these chickens and they fly great in the local park.

I have scheduled some time on the weekend that would normally be spent drinking beer to update the website. No later than Sunday afternoon I should be able to start taking orders for Krusty's Ballistic Chicken. Would be great if all can support this kit release, I am hoping interest in this type of Aussie home grown kit might motivate others with some creative flair to have a go. :bigthumbsup!

Geez Bones!! I don't want to be cutting into your beer time!!

Thank you for the support Bones! I would never have got this far without it. In fact, I suspect that rocketry in Australia would be dominated by over-priced hobby-store bought Estes kits if Suburban wasn't around!

Good question! I've got a rocksim file - for whatever reason it's not on my laptop :( I'll have to go through my back-up drive. I'll post it here once I find it :)
