I wish them success, as we need something to generate excitement in Australia for a space industry.

Thanks CATO. I assume that's publicly accessible info? If so would you mind sharing where you pulled it from?

Thanks for the replies gents... Still no news via the twatters. That said according to the NOTAM they've still got a couple days to go if they've not attempted launch already.

So I've signed up to NAIPS and had a look at Brisbane (YBBB) and Mount ISA (YMBA) NOTAMs. I can't find the NOTAM for GIlmour anymore. But I can see a NOTAM for UQ.

C991/19
MODEL ROCKET LAUNCHING WI 60M RADIUS OF PSN 273005S 1530041E
(UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND, UQ OVAL)
BRG 255 MAG 1.2NM FM PRINCESS ALEXANDRA HOSPITAL HELIPAD (YPRI)
OPR CTC TEL: 0432 503 517
SFC TO 350FT AGL
FROM 08 020300 TO 08 020400

That makes me think I'm 'doing it right' for lack of a better term. So is it fair to assume the NOTAM for GIlmour (C986/19) has been met/retired?

SFC TO 350FT AGL

Yeah, I saw that also, a notam for 350ft

I have had a look (again), I can't seem to locate it this time around, the flight may have already occurred and the notam removed (or I screwed up again)... Just make sure you set the time period for more than the default 6hrs.

They don't mean FL (flight level) do they? FL 350 would be 35k'. Bad typo if that is what it is.

I don't believe so. "SFC TO 350FT AGL" is 350 feet AGL.

So are they doing a "hop", or a recovery a very long way downrange :D .

Sounds like a pressure regulator &/or relief valve/burst disk(?) failure.

Are they using helium as a pressurant?

I think it's more accurate to say anomaly at T -7. They suffered damage to the tank/rocket as a result of the anomaly. Granted it's a bit of semantics but when I think aborted at T-7 that (at least in my mind) implies the vehicle was/is safe but the launch countdown was aborted due to an unforeseen issue. But that's not what happened here.

Further an oxidiser tank failure + the fact that their oxidiser is HTP = they most likely had a HTP spill to deal with. That is conjecture though.
