Wychitella Launch 16-17th June

Based in the greater Melbourne region, MARS is the home of amateur rocketry in Victoria. (Not to be confused with the planet, we are much closer than the planet and operate less rovers)

Wychitella Launch 16-17th June

Postby natty » Mon May 21, 2018 3:38 pm

G'day Rocketeers!

Just wondering who is coming along? What are you going to fly? I'll be doing my L3!

Are you planning on camping out? I'm thinking I will, but I dont want to be the only one!

Can you help out with AYRC?

Hey Stace!

I'll be there Friday, unless Karl or Marty tell me not to! I suppose we can organise dinner at the pub on Saturday - we should let the publican know he'll have a few more people that arent from 'round here!

Cheers

I’m heading over for the Tripoli launch on the 10th and hanging around for the AYRC launch and MARS launch.
What accommodation options are nearby the launch site?
I would happily camp but I think the rest of the family will want a room somewhere, if a few are staying on site I might pack a tent, will be good to catch up with everyone.

the town itself is pretty small, although someone mentioned accommodation at the pub?

Sascha was staying at a motel somewhere close last time?

Quite a few other towns within a short driving distance Bridgewater, Charlton etc are a bit bigger (hey, it's not that far from Serp - maybe 40km - so up to and including Bendigo if you were happy to do an hour-ish drive)

Hi Vance, checkout the Inglewood Motel/Caravan Park, I often stay the night there when I go to Serp. From memory it's about 14 km from the Serp launch site.

What would the ceiling for flights be for this launch be please? Would like a confirmed number if possible :)

Not sure which launch I will be attending that month. Just got back from OS and my brain is still spatially displaced, or so it feels like currently

Hey Vance,

The Railway Hotel at wytchitella is where a lot of people stayed last year. It's a real country pub, great atmosphere and decent rooms
