Tripoli (Victoria) August 2018 Launch

Based in the greater Melbourne region, MARS is the home of amateur rocketry in Victoria. (Not to be confused with the planet, we are much closer than the planet and operate less rovers)

Tripoli (Victoria) Launch, 5th August 2018

Tripoli would like to send an open invitation to anyone interested in attending our launches.

The August 2018 launch is currently scheduled for 5th August, pending weather and launch site availability.

Our launch site is located approximately 30 minutes past Bendigo, heading away from Melbourne. Refer to the detail on the webpage on how to get there and access the site: http://www.tripoli.org.au/LaunchSchedule

Come along and fly a rocket, or just watch. All welcome. Our normal range of motors varies from A up to typically M. Maximum ceiling for the flights is 25000'.

Final launch go/nogo is usually given on the evening of the Thursday before the launch, especially in relation to weather.

Please contact any Tripoli member if you would like to attend and we will keep you informed regarding this decision.

Share and Enjoy :D

Hold, Hold, Hold.

Unfortunately the weather for 5th of August is getting in our way of flying :( .

The launch is currently moved to the 12th August, with confirmation for go/nogo to be posted here about this time next week.

Waiting...

We are still evaluating the weather for the rescheduled launch on 12th August 2018. I will update here when I have information. Ground condition of the access tracks is a big concern due to forecast rain and storm on Saturday 11th :( .

HOLD, HOLD, HOLD AGAIN
Some of our committee have just visited Serpentine and the ground is already quite wet from rains, and further rain and storms forecast for Saturday will make it a mudpit. Strong winds are also forecast for Sunday which would make flights difficult. Keeping in mind that opportunities for launching this year before fire season kicks in are rapidly decreasing, we are deferring the launch for one more week, to Sunday 19th August 2018.

Fingers crossed for a third and final time for August please :)

Cancelled

The weather has not proven favourable for us this month. Conditions are unsuitable again for this coming weekend so we are going to cancel. :( :( :(

The next launch is the September launch, scheduled for 2nd September 2018.
