Rocketry Vic Sep Launch

Based in the greater Melbourne region, MARS is the home of amateur rocketry in Victoria. (Not to be confused with the planet, we are much closer than the planet and operate less rovers)

Rocketry Vic Sep Launch

Postby rocket_troy » Tue Sep 17, 2013 11:22 am

Just a reminder regarding this weekend's scheduled September launch at Serpentine. The forecast as of this morning (Tuesday) is for an absolutely fantastic weekend. So, we're going ahead and tentatively proposing a 2 day launch (both Sat & Sun) this weekend subject to subsequent forecasts and ground conditions. I'll provide a notice (likely tomorrow) confirming whether we're going ahead with a single day event or a 2 day event or if it all turns bad - the event at all.

Any questions pls PM me or Email me directly GEORDI@c031.aone.net.au

Cheers,

This Sunday is a GO(!) for Serpentine. The fine weather isn't expected until the afternoon, but mostly sunny skies and light winds are expected then as are some impressive flights!

Really sorry I couldn't be there! I was hoping you might still be running at 16:45 when I flew over, but it looks like you'd burned everything by then. Great set of videos there, Jase - thanks for sharing.

Thanks mate, cheque in the mail

Was a fantastic day and there were some super cool flights. Bourney got his two stage project up and away, lovely airstart and OTT sent his Velociraptor into orbit on an L640. Ricky managed to land a parachute on my head and then let me kill his spool with a G64...(both caught on video  )

Good fun day with perfect weather 8)

Jase.
That is some great footage.
Awesome day with some fantastic rockets.
The K700 went up in my new rocket, X-celerator.
The spool will rise from the ashes, "SPOOLY" will live again!!

Cheers Rick.

Quick update on the search effort, spent Sunday arvo at the range and nadda. Got to speak to the locals though, lovely folks, they'll keep an eye out for us.
