AMRS appoints new chair to the Records committee

Due to personal commitments & the ability to devote the time required to the Records & Competition committee Matthew Small has decided to step down as the chair and also from the Records & Competitions committee. The AMRS thank Matthew for his valued input & wish him well in the extra studies that he has taken on.

The AMRS Executive has appointed Andrew Hamilton to the position of Records & Competition Committee chair & look forward to the continued good work that the committee has begun under his direction.

The AMRS Executive has also endorsed the addition of Karl Hemphill to the committee filling the vacancy left by Matthews departure. AMRS welcomes Karl to the committee, and look forward to his input on the committee.

Rather belated, but thanks everyone. Drew was doing a great job in the background and really deserves to head things up.

Thanks to the AMRS Executive for having had me on board.

I am honoured to have observed three Australian record flights. I hope we all can keep encouraging each other to learn and excel. Records aren't just about glory and pats on the back, which of course are well deserved. They also set a bar for all of us. When we build those mach busters, having a bar to reach for helps us strive that little bit more, learn a little bit more, contemplate a little bit more, innovate a little bit more, and understand a little bit more than we otherwise might have. Records help us all stretch that little bit further, even if it's just by being awestruck by the achievements of others. Please use the Records Committee. They're here to help you succeed. :)
