Sounds good, hopefully with the 120k instrument already in place we will get some interest from some of the more extreme fliers around the world.

If you can believe what is written on FB, regarding the ongoing BLM and FIA issues at Blackrock, Westmar is already arguably the best amateur high altitude site in the world. Along with the hard work by AMRS to get reciprocal agreements with NAR, MDRA, NZRA and TRA, and the AIM membership class, it is safe to say that there will be a larger international contingent at ARTDU18. All pretty exciting.
Many years ago the great British explorer George Mallory, who was to die on Mount Everest, was asked why did he want to climb it. He said, "Because it is there."
Well, space is there, and we're going to climb it

Just out of curiosity, who sets the 120k feet ceiling at Westmar. Is it AMRS or is it someone over at the Australian Government?

The 'instrument' which governs the altitude and conditions of the site is issued by CASA but the altitude is our request and based on our risk assessments.
